Sovinjak – Buzet

In Sovinjak is the Church of St George, built in 1557 – restructured in 1927 -and a bell tower.

As many other villages Ulrich II donated Sovinjak to the Aquileia Patriarchs. In 1374 when Alberto IV Count of Pazin died Sovinjak became part of the Venetian Republic and a part of the Venetians defence border under Buzet’s command.
